Alex Ryan grew up in New Hampshire with a spin rod in hand, chasing bass in hidden ponds and muddy rivers. As he got older, he turned that spin rod into a fly rod—and the quiet pull of moving water became a lifelong obsession. After college, Alex packed up and headed west, trading pavement for ridgelines, trout streams, and backcountry freedom in the high country of Wyoming.

Alex has built a life around hard work and wild places. He’s guided anglers through technical water, climbed trees as an arborist, and served as a ranger at Monadnock State Park—learning firsthand how to navigate land, people, and the unpredictability of the wild. Those experiences forged the skill set he carries today: a blend of deep woodsmanship, quiet patience, and backcountry grit.

But Alex isn’t just about skill—he’s about spirit. From chasing cutthroat on alpine creeks to calling elk in bugling timber, he lives for the moments when preparation and passion collide. Dawn in the basin, the stillness before a cast, the long miles under a heavy pack—these aren’t side notes to Alex’s story, they are the story.
